The News Reel is the monthly publication of the
Cumberland Chapter of Trout Unlimited, with over 1000
direct mail chapter members. The remainder of the
2000 monthly printed copies are distributed free by
Fly Shops, Outdoor Stores, and other retail
establishments throughout the Nashville Metro area.
Winner of the prestigious TU "Bollinger Award" as
the best newsletter in the nation, the News Reel is
an on-going source of information about the chapter
and events for the membership. Feature stories about
the monthly meeting program speaker, fishing reports,
humor articles, "how to" articles, conservation
stories, the chapter president's monthly message,
are included. Advertisements in the paper help defray
the cost of printing and postage, freeing up chapter
funds for important conservation projects.
Trout Unlimited members are generally influential,
affluent, well read, and an important customer base.
